School Ukulele Groups

I currently run after-school Ukulele Groups in a number of Doncaster and Rotherham primary schools.

The ukulele is a lovely, affordable instrument for building confidence, as children can usually be playing and singing a recognisable tune within one or two sessions.

I have ukuleles to lend to the children during lessons. However, I reccommend that parents buy their child an instrument if possible so that they can practice as home and make more rapid progress. I am happy to advise parents on purchasing and maintaining a ukulele.

The ukuleles I use in lessons are Mahalo Soprano Ukuleles and were purchased from DJM Music in Kent. They offer excellent value for money and fast delivery. Another instrument worth considering is the Tiger Beginners Ukulele. If you order one of these from DJM Music, use the discount code 'SONGSMITH10' to get a discount of 10% (this offer is only available for the Tiger UKE7 Beginners Ukulele).

The song sheets for the songs we have performed in the school groups are available to download.

Although I am fully booked for the 2017-18 academic year, if you are interested in having an after-school ukulele group at your school next year, please get in touch.

Want a Ukulele Group at your school?

I teach ukulele and guitar as part of music provision for the Key Stage 2 curriculum. If your school might be interested, please get in touch. I am almost fully booked at the moment but slots do become available occasionally.

If you would like to discuss provision for 2018-19 academic year, I would advise getting in touch by early in the summer term.

I have a set of 15 ukuleles for children to use and can offer advice and a supplier discount for the purchase of individual instruments or class sets.
